Turkey Hill Experience Now Designated a Certified Autism Center

Turkey Hill Experience has completed the process of becoming a Certified Autism Center, which is a designation awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) that demonstrates the organization’s commitment to ensuring guests and families with children who have autism and sensory disorders have the best possible experience.

“Turkey Hill is committed to providing the ultimate experience to all visitors. We work hard to ensure our guests enjoy their time with us. That includes having a trained staff and a fully equipped facility to serve all individuals. Obtaining our CAC is something we are very excited and proud to be part of,” said Turkey Hill Experience Manager, Bob Adams.

In recent years, the popularity of “autism-friendly” options has grown; however, parents and families are now seeking out organizations that have completed additional research-based training or certification to ensure their needs can be met. For almost 20 years, IBCCES has been the industry leader in autism training for healthcare, education and corporate professionals around the globe. IBCCES recognized that many families with children with special needs have limited travel and entertainment options and created programs specifically for those industries.

“We’re excited to add Turkey Hill Experience to a growing list of certified destinations and attractions around the globe. IBCCES is working with these organizations to lead the way and ensure all families have as many options as possible to make memories through new destinations and experiences,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman.

The Turkey Hill Experience features interactive exhibits allowing visitors to learn about dairy culture, the story of Turkey Hill Dairy, and how the company’s ice cream and iced tea flavors are selected and created.

IBCCES also created AutismTravel.com, a free online resource for parents that lists certified destinations and connects families to other resources and each other. Each destination or attraction listed on the site has met Certified Autism Center requirements, which includes staff training conducted by leading autism experts.
