Gatemaster Partners with IBCCES to Provide Accessibility Solution
Over the past few years, the attraction and travel industries have begun to take more steps to provide inclusive programs and accommodations for guests with special needs; however, many are now running into difficulties when managing the registration and identification of guests that would benefit from these accommodations. In order to provide a solution for this concern, the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) created an Accessibility Card program.
The digital IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) is a free resource for individuals with cognitive disorders or physical impairments to register to receive accommodations or benefits that attractions might provide. The IAC registration system collects and stores documentation needed to access certain special needs accommodations or benefits at amusement parks and attractions.
As a leading provider of point-of-sale and ticketing software serving more than 10 industries and 16 different countries, Gatemaster is continually working to help their partners in the attraction industry implement solutions that help them be successful in every aspect. The IBCCES Accessibility Card was a perfect fit to add to their program as a benefit for partners looking for ways to manage their accessibility program registration.
“I’m proud to work with IBCCES in supporting this important, yet often neglected segment of attraction goers! Our partnership makes it easier for our clients to take advantage of this amazing program and continue to improve the guest experience for everyone.” said Sondra Shannon, Gatemaster CEO
The IAC program can be implemented by attractions and theme parks to help streamline their onsite registration and accessibility programs. When an individual registers online and creates an IAC profile, they can then present that registration at partner attractions and parks to access the individual benefits at each location.
For almost 20 years the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) has provided training and certification for education, healthcare, and corporate professionals worldwide. Based on the feedback from many of its Certified Autism Center™ partners, IBCCES created the IAC to help improve the guest experience, reduce abuse of benefits, increase staff efficiency and streamline the check-in process.
“We’re excited to partner with Gatemaster and help provide this solution to more attractions worldwide. It’s great to see the increase in locations that are taking steps to create more inclusive programs and experiences for guests – we don’t want them to be slowed down by the management and oversight of those programs,” said Myron Pincomb, IBCCES Board Chairman.
