ABQ BioPark – Aquarium

ABQ BioPark – Aquarium

ABQ BioPark, the southwest’s premier place to experience the wonders of nature, comprises two physical locations; the  Zoo and the  Aquarium and Botanic Garden. The Aquarium is located next to the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Take a journey down the Rio Grande from Albuquerque to the Gulf of Mexico, visiting aquatic animals along the way.

The ABQ BioPark is a refuge for thousands of animals and plants, cared for by zoological, aquatic and botanical experts who support the critical work of protecting the natural world and sharing its wonders. Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and American Humane Certified™, we’re also an institutional member of the American Public Gardens Association and a participating member of the Center for Plant Conservation.

Explore the Zoo to watch penguins dive, listen to lorikeets chatter, spot a snow leopard, or see orangutans and siamangs swing through the trees. At the Aquarium and Botanic Garden, one ticket lets you explore the wonders of the ocean and 32 acres of gardens, parks, conservatories, a farm, and the BUGarium, one of the country’s most elaborate exhibits dedicated to live bugs and arthropods. Can’t decide? Consider a combo ticket, and visit the Zoo plus the Aquarium and Botanic Garden in one action-packed day.
