When you visit, you’re not only supporting the animals here at the Houston Zoo but also helping to save wildlife around the globe.

The Houston Zoo provides various accessible options to ensure that all visitors have an enjoyable experience. Here are some of the key features:

Parking: Designated accessible parking spaces are available in the main lot and the additional lots surrounding the zoo.

Wheelchair Rentals: Manual wheelchairs and electric convenience vehicles (ECVs) are available for rent.

Pathways and Exhibits: Most pathways and exhibits are wheelchair accessible. The zoo has made efforts to ensure that viewing areas are accessible for guests with mobility challenges.

Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are available throughout the zoo, including family restrooms. 

Nursing Rooms: Nursing mothers have the option of using our air-conditioned dedicated nursing area to breastfeed or pump in privacy.

Service Animals: Service animals are welcome on Zoo grounds under the care of their owner. The Houston Zoo asks that all guests with service animals check in at our Safety and Security window to register their animal
