Located in Downtown Mesa and operated by the City of Mesa, the idea Museum is a vibrant space where children flourish through creativity, curiosity and connection. With hands-on STEAM activities and immersive experiences, every visit inspires imagination, with art and creativity at the heart of every adventure.
Accessibility and Inclusion
At idea Museum, we are committed to creating an environment where all families feel welcome and supported. We offer a variety of accessibility tools to enhance the experience of children and visitors with sensory needs:
- Sensory Support Backpacks: Borrow a backpack filled with fidget toys, weighted calming stuffed animals, visual timers and more.
- Noise-Reducing Headphones: Available at the front desk and throughout the museum for guests with noise sensitivities.
- TheraSpec Glasses: Blue-light-blocking glasses designed to reduce glare and light sensitivity, available at the front desk.
- Quiet Spaces: Take a break in one of two designated quiet spaces, perfect for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle. The Infant Care and Low Sensory Space in ArtVille is a private area for feeding, diaper changes or simply stepping away from the crowd. The outdoor Atrium is a peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy some fresh air.

idea Museum features engaging galleries designed to inspire kids of all ages:
- ArtVille: Perfect for crawlers and toddlers, this whimsical “mini town” invites young explorers to play and discover with a performing arts theater, veterinary clinic and much more.
- The HUB: A hands-on gallery filled with interactive activities that spark creativity and critical thinking including a puppet theater, AI experiences and more.
- Whiteman Family Exhibition Gallery: A rotating exhibition space currently showcasing JoyRide: Art on Wheels, which encourages children to explore the mechanics and artistry of wheels in a hands-on, engaging way.
- Coming Soon – idea Lab: Opening in early 2025, this exciting gallery will highlight the intersection of art and science, and will include a 3D printer, laser cutter, AI experiences and more.
