Zayed International Airport
The Sensory Space at Zayed International Airport (AUH) is a dedicated passenger support facility designed to enhance the travel experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities and diverse needs. Located airside at the Departures area, close to Gate D43 at the corridor that connects gate D and C, this space offers a peaceful retreat from the typical hustle of the airport terminal.
Thoughtfully structured to promote relaxation and sensory regulation, the Sensory Space features two interactive rooms tailored to different age groups, one suited for older children and adults seeking peace of mind, and another designed for younger children. These rooms are equipped with interactive light displays, comfortable soft furnishings, bubble tubes, and dedicated quiet zones, crafting a therapeutic environment where travellers can unwind and feel at ease before their flight.
The facility is open 24/7 and is complimentary for all departing and transit passengers. Sessions run for approximately 45 minutes and are limited to one group of up to six guests per room to ensure privacy and comfort. While walk-in access may be permitted subject to capacity, advance booking via email is highly recommended to secure preferred time slots.
As part of AUH’s broader commitment to inclusive travel, the Sensory Space complements other specialised services and accessibility initiatives, reinforcing the airport’s mission to support passengers of all abilities throughout their journey.
