Eagle Mount Billings

Eagle Mount Billings

Too few opportunities exist for youth and adults with disabilities to participate in community-integrated activities – recreationally and socially. The Billings-based non-profit, Eagle Mount, has provided adaptive recreation for our community and the surrounding areas since 1988.

Through their involvement in our year-round programs, children and adults with disabilities acquire enhanced self-esteem, independence, and increased physical, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities. By engaging community partners and volunteers effectively, Eagle Mount encourages awareness, understanding, acceptance, and lasting positive outcomes for all involved. Our programs include climbing, cycling, cross-country skiing, golf, Out and About social outings, skiing, snowboarding, soccer, and ten weeks of Summer Day Camps and overnight adventures.

A 501c3, Eagle Mount is funded entirely by program fees and the generosity of others. We provide an invaluable community service by offering a safe, structured setting and stimulating physical and cognitive enrichment activities for youths and adults with disabilities.  One parent said, “If we didn’t have Eagle Mount, (he) wouldn’t have swimming, field trips, or friends. The summer would be very long and boring for him.”

For many, skiing, rafting, biking, and trips to ZooMontana are just a good time. For those we serve – children and adults with disabilities – enjoying these activities surrounded by their Eagle Mount friends and volunteers is much more than a good time. It is an opportunity to gain social skills, explore new challenges, know acceptance, and experience joy. For many, Eagle Mount provides the chance of a lifetime.
