The Garden Theater

The Garden Theater, built in 1923, is located right on Main Street in the heart of downtown Frankfort. Situated mere blocks from Lake Michigan, the theater is ideally located in the vibrant tourist community. The Friends of The Garden Theater non-profit was formed and purchased the theater in 2020, embarking on a mission to revitalize and renovate the space. Since then, the Garden has provided top-tier entertainment in the form of first-run movies, live music, dance, theater to the Benzie County community and beyond.

The Garden is equipped with newly renovated handicap accessible bathrooms, as well as a handicapped designated area among the theater seats. The theater is also equipped with a hearing loop system including T-coil technology. Headsets can be used to connect to one’s hearing aid via bluetooth to elevate the sound. Open captioning showings of films are provided once a week.
